Professional Profile

Dr Peter Scott is a dedicated and enthusiastic fee-assured cardiologist working as an Interventional Cardiology Consultant at the Gloucester Royal Hospital, Gloucester, United Kingdom. He completed his UK Certification of Completion of Training (CCT) in Interventional Cardiology in August 2013 and has performed over 2,500 diagnostic and 750 first operator interventional cardiac catheterisations (predominantly trans-radial). He also has first operator training in IVUS, OCT, FFR and Rotablation techniques.

 

Dr Scott completed a senior clinical fellowship at King’s College Hospital London in Interventional Cardiology, gaining new experiences and techniques in advanced interventional and structural cardiology. From August 2013 until February 2015, he worked as a senior fellow in interventional cardiology at the Austin Hospital, Melbourne Australia. During this time, he not only gained PCI expertise, but was also heavily involved with several quality improvement projects, including the TAVI programme at the Austin Hospital.

 

Dr Scott has a major interest in utilising his Cardiology experience and knowledge for the delivery of patient focused care and promoting staff education through dedicated teaching sessions and is very excited by the additional future opportunities in Interventional Cardiology.

Personal Profile

Dr Scott has always had a keen interest in competitive sport. He was Captain of the Queen’s University Belfast Rowing Club in 2000, culminating in two quarterfinal Henley Regatta placings and selection for the Commonwealth Rowing Championships 2002, Nottingham UK. He has also coached both Queen’s Rowing Club and the King’s College University Rowing club in his spare time. Dr Scott has competed in both triathlon and long distance running events, running the London Marathon in 2010 for charity. More recently in Australia he took part in several long (350km) distance charity road cycling events.
